Looking like the rain is blowing through as predicted and looking out to see from my office window I can see whiter clouds in the distance.

A thoroughly entertaining evening tonight. Firstly congratulations to Mark & his team fir getting the meeting on after all the rain. Thought the track stood up well, but I'm no expert. Sam Hagon is obviously the outstanding performer tonight. It was good too some future prospects for the GB Speedway community. Congratulations for a great meeting to Officials & Riders , also everyone who worked on the track.

On entering the 'arena'/'coliseum', these names of course are forever interchangeable, I admit a bit later than usual due to rain most of the day, the track looked in amazing condition, with the edge of the centre green looking a bit sloppy in places, it was race time and it started to rain, so things were not looking good. The first few heats proved that gate four was a bit of a graveyard, but eventually the 'cream' of the riders got dialled in and the eventual winner got the job done. A very enjoyable meeting and a big thank you to everyone that got this meeting on, especially to all the riders, a typical late spring night at the speedway, it got a bit colder in the last four heats, yet again another top quality British Speedway event put on in what I would say not the best of conditions, but still enjoyable in front of a shall I say a modest crowd.

The following is from Speedway Star at the end of the report for the meeting;
'Given the amount of rain in the build-up to the meeting, it was a credit to Plymouth that they got it on as scheduled, and to the youngsters for the comparative lack of incidents as the 20 heats were rapidly completed.'
Nice to see all the hard work by those involved on the day recognised.
