Up in North Yorkshire at the moment on holiday (but booked with speedway in mind!). Looking forward to this meeting as never been to Redcar track before. I hope the guys aren't too downhearted by last night's result. I couldn't be there so I can't comment, but sounded like there was some good racing and it was definitely close. Shame results just haven't gone our way so far this season. I'm sure things will get better.

GLADIATORS MOVE FOR PEARSON FRIDAY, JUNE 23, 2023 PLYMOUTH have moved to sign Australian youngster James Pearson following his recent release from Birmingham.
Pearson has joined the Gladiators as a replacement for Jake Turner, and goes straight into the side for their Cab Direct Championship match at Redcar tonight (Friday).
He has given up his Under-24 place for Leszno in Poland at the present time, with that league also operating on Plymouth’s Tuesday race-night
Pearson said: “Plymouth isn’t the easiest track to ride, but I enjoy it to be honest. I have come down to Plymouth three times and I have really enjoyed myself because it’s a fun little track to ride. I am keen to start racing there.
“Hopefully, I can keep banging in some good points for Plymouth and we can win some races. It would be nice to help the boys a bit, but I am not the most experienced. If I can score six points, then that would be amazing and we can go on to get some wins.
“I have gone up a spot now, but my aim is to get into the main body of the team. That is my personal goal and another goal is to make the play-offs, which is the club’s goal and the team’s goal as well. I haven’t been in the play-offs before, so to make it would be awesome and when you are in the play-offs, you never know what can happen.”

Good move I think. Feels sorry for Jake but unsure how quickly he will progress and you have to grab these opportinities when they arise. Looking forward to seeing him in action tonight.

Think those scores are wrong. Trigger beat Pearson in Heat 8 (so Trigger 1, Pearson 6). Anyway, that's not so important.
What is important is that the team performed really well tonight. We were desperately unlucky in Heat 13 when Danny King fell whilst we were on a near certain 5-1, then Richie shed a chain on the start line and Wright beat Kyle (turning a 5-1 to level the scores into a 2-3). If we had secured that 5-1, who knows? C'est la vie.
Special mentions should go to Ben Barker who still knows how to ride the Ecco Arena - some very important wins including a tactical in Heat 9. Kyle looked good after a shaky start, and James showed plenty of promise. Up and down a bit but he was very competitive. He should be happy with his score.
Overall, some good racing with plenty of passing. And despite it raining off and on all evening, there was never any mention of abandoning the meeting.
