GLADIATORS ON HOLD TUESDAY, APRIL 9, 2024 PLYMOUTH have been forced to further delay the start of their home season due to recent wet weather in the south-west.
The Gladiators were due to host Scunthorpe this Saturday in the second leg of their Cab Direct KO Cup tie, but this meeting has now been postponed.
It has been swiftly re-arranged for one week later, Saturday April 20, with the first leg taking place as scheduled at the Eddie Wright Raceway this Friday (April 12).

Some things are always worth the wait. With the 'Glads' '24 season further belated, I can only imagine some conspiracy theorists reaction on getting up this morning and reading of Saturday's meeting postponement. Not me of course I am more than delighted, at least we get to squeeze at least three meetings somewhere into a season that saw us only having two home meetings a month on average, I do feel sorry for the riders though, they must be champing at the bit.
Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain.

Track work or no track work the start to this season would always have been delayed. The amount of rain we've had since January has been unbelievable.
Just ask the football clubs of Plymouth Parkway, Truro City and even Taunton Town who have had to travel as far as Gloucester to fulfil home fixtures. It's a problem across the southwest.
