In what has turned out to be an extended and extraordinary long winter, what has it been, something like 7 months and 15 odd days, Plymouth and the wider South West speedway fans get to inhale the smell of Castrol R once again this Saturday. With a completely new track to enjoy, let's not forget the many volunteer hours put in over the winter in what turned out to be atrocious conditions I salute and applaud you all, with almost a completely 'new' set of riders to enjoy, some of which were even Devils the last time they rode for the team. With the perfect weather over the last few days and leading to tapes up, we might even be looking at being covered in dust on Saturday, who would have thought of that over the last few weeks, but for me personally dust is good but Speedway being back is better.

Enjoy it lads and lasses - while I'm not expecting a 32 point swing in our favour just to get back out there and being able to watch some racing, meet old friends and see exactly how riders attack bends 3 and 4 should be enough.
Yeah, unfortunately I've long made plans expecting this to be a free Saturday. What's another couple of weeks eh?

Can't say I'm surprised that the promotion has opted for R/R at No1, even though the legendary Devils did claw back a 61-39 loss way back in 2007, this time it's going to be bit harder me thinks, seems like some riders when they've been approached to ride as a guest are asking for some ridiculous points/travelling money and even asking for some over the top guaranteed money. Far better to give some of the home riders a few laps practice and a chance to earn some extra money, here's hoping the Glads riders have a safe one.

Great meeting tonight. It's been a while since we had some good racing. Overtaking was a treat. Great effort by Mark & the team on the track preparation over the winter period. Looks like the start of a good team, would be great if we can get through the season with the same team. Great idea by Garry too use a no brainer R/R for Nico. Just a shame that BB couldn't win heat 15. Roll on the next home meeting.

Just unfortunate that the PA system wasn't working certainly on the first bend & possibly elsewhere. It was quite odd having to get the race times from social media.
When is the next meeting, as it seems to differ depending on where you look?

Well, Well, Well, what a meeting that was. For anyone that missed this first home meeting of the season (sorry Greenlander) you missed a corker, the six rider Glads put on a top quality show, with five of the team easily surpassing their averages, with only Jacob Hook getting his average due to mechanical problems. Yet another lacklustre away track performance from Michael Palm Toft and Jake Allen (tonsillitis apparently), helping the Glads to a surprisingly easy win in the end. The meetings between Plymouth and the 'eight legged ones' are a bit on the feisty side usually, but this time it was a bit on the subdued side with a low three reruns only. Special mention goes to the impressive riding of Ben Barker achieving a paid six ride maximum and the only rider to get high in the dirt on the bend four banking, probably worth the admission fee itself, also the tenacious riding of Dan Thompson shone through. It was also good to see a return of the double page 'The Archives' feature in the programme, long may it continue.
Can anyone supply me with all 15 heat times, the PA wasn't working on bend two, bend one was the same apparently.
