But what with Jack Thomas. Didn't he give up and go home in another meeting (the U19/21s back in 2017) without riding. I'd like to apologise to Jack - it was actually another rider with the initial 'J' that didn't end up taking any rides in the U19 Final. That kid was Jordan Jenkins and he rode alright tonight. Still considering he didn't do more than a couple of warm-up laps I'd love to know the real reason he didn't go out there.

What do we think of a manager/promoter who addressed concerns from a rider by saying "We've put lots of illegal drugs on the track, so that when you crash you get high and don't feel the pain"?
Even if it was supposed to be a joke, I think that's pretty disgraceful

Even if it was supposed to be a joke, I think that's pretty disgraceful I think its disgraceful that a rider refuses to race and tries to put the meeting in jeopardy without even starting a race! The Plymouth lads had no problems with the track.

And, lets have it right, neither did any of the IoW boys really though Ben Morley had an unfortunate lock coming out of a bend to allow Richie to pass. Nor the two Kent kids who decided to ride and scored pretty consistent second places. And the Breem lads once Danyon got to grips (see what I did there) with the track did alright too even allowing for the fact that they had probably the two weakest riders in the field.
Ultimately the Plymouth riders were just too good on a track that obviously suits their style (and to use examples of other tracks that seem to get grief) like the Mildenhall track does for their home riders, like the Kent one does for theirs... surely you get the idea I could go on. Home advantage is massive in speedway and, blimey, last night was about as dominant as a Plymouth side has been at home, like ever.

The only issue we have with the track now is because of all the negative post about it on social media and forums it is in the riders heads that come down and ride.
I feel sorry for any home and travelling away supporters that have to witness a rider not 100% committed to racing there bike, because that’s when accidents happen.
Apart from Danyon Hume’s crash non of the other crashes where because of an unsafe track. This is a sport that separates the boys from men and if a rider wants to just go out and ride his bike and ride on slick track I would suggest joining the Southern Track Riders or the Dragons, if you want to race your bike and be a speedway racer then you ride the track that the referee the referee has deemed safe for racing.
Accidents will always happen and that’s the nature of the beast. When I started riding Conference League in 2004 we where not asked by the referee if we want to ride we where made to race it, on track 5 times worst then any speedway track you see in recent years and we done it all for £5 a point.
This is our club and our team smashed it because they raced on a track they wanted to race on. And once the other riders got there head back into the game it ended up being a great meeting.
I feel for Dan Gilkes and Luke Bowen who withdrew because of injury and I feel bad that Jack Thomas didn’t feel it was safe to ride, but 13 riders that where able to continue the meeting showed it was fine to race on.
We must stop this negativity and social media slating. Get behind your promotion, get behind your riders and get behind your club, this could be a massive turning point for our team now they have a track prepared how they deem great. With any luck me might start gaining some points and reach the play offs, but let’s do it all together.

You have said it all Mattie, brilliant.
Regrettably some folk are not happy unless they can have a moan but the vast majority can feed on that at have their say and get behind all involved in Speedway in Plymouth.
Every one of our lads raised their game on Friday and proved not only to the supporters but to themselves what they are capable of.
Carry this momentum through tonight and bring back some points. Good luck and safe return.

I no they do not have to do this but maybe just maybe if the promotion or manager went on the British speedway forum and said there piece maybe this constant slating of Plymouth’s track might be put to bed as it’s not good for the club or business.
